Haiti Needs Help

Haiti Needs Help

I remember being a kid in Miami and not having a dime to spend. The mid-eighties were a pretty tough time if your parents hadn’t already amassed a decent fortune and the line between the “classes” was much more pronounced than it is now if you can believe it. I also remember a man called Simon who, in the midst of all that nonsense had set up an okay living with a car stereo shop on 36th street. Simon was an all around cool guy in a place where the streets were rough and life wasn’t so safe. My friend Jorge and I would go to his shop and he’d give us work building speaker boxes. If there wasn’t any work, he was fine with us hanging out at the shop and watch movies or just sit around. In a place where life wasn’t the safest and definitely not the prettiest, we had a safehaven where things were just cool. He cooked up some rum when Jorge had the flu and showed us his chrome AK47 that he used to carry when he lived in Haiti. Simon was one of the coolest people I knew back then and a good representation of the fact that things could always be worse. He hooked us up when we didn’t have anything else even though he could easily have done the work himself. For this reason, I am asking all of you to help out just a little by offering what you can to Wyclef Jean’s relief fund for the families hit by the tragic earthquake that recently hit this small island nation. I am not going to try and scam you by telling you to click on the paypal link, I am not trying to sell you anything but peace of mind. I am simply asking you to treat your fellow human like you would like to be treated. HERE IS THE LINK. What you do from there is between you and your conscience.

More graffiti coming soon. I’ve been doing some crazy stuff in my blackbooks of late and have also run into an old friend. When the weather clears up we will be working the biggest graffiti production this place has ever seen.
