Bikini City 1990

Bikini City 1990

Yeah, we all start somewhere. Today I posted some of the very few existing pics from my first decade of painting. They aren’t pretty by any stretch of the imagination, but fun to look back on. Wishing I had more to offer, but we were all poor street kids back then and not many of us had a camera or money to develop the film. NONE of us thought it would matter this many years later but here we are and the history is so far gone on everyone that we all wish like mad that we had some flix to offer. There are quite a few from some of the masters of the day out there, but not so many of the guys outside of the southern part of the county. Hopefully the ones I offer today will give you at least some insight as to what we were doing back in the day.

Considering that i should be home by sometime in September, and winter will be right around the corner. I will be booking commissioned work from now into the end of August for late September/early October. I have to coordinate this around a tour so it would be better to entertain enquiries now as opposed to trying to put things together at the last minute. So, if you are interested in having mural work or canvas done this year, drop me an email at gone84@forceduprise.com or just hit the contact button at http://gone84.com. I am still doing tshirt designs until the end of July and any digital stuff is still happening because I can do it from here. I will definitely be revisiting the Straw wall(pictured) almost immediately upon my arrival with a possible guest artist or two(depending on their travel arrangements) so look forward to seeing more up there when i get home!

Can’t wait to get home! So much is in the works right now its ridiculous. But none of it can be done from here. With the exception of some website design and a few other digital things i have been working on, i am pretty much out of the painting business until i make it home. When I do get home though, look out world! I intend to bomb anything and everything with every marking medium imaginable! Have a few big projects lined up with some old friends so there will be plenty of eyecandy coming sooner than you think. The new site project is still moving along and updates are forthcoming of course. If i dont write about it here i am sure to put it on twitter so get to following!

be-all-end-all site archiving Miami’s graffiti movement from the beginning in the early 80′s to the most current flicks by some of the best writers you will find on the planet. Miami’s vibrant art culture has lent heavily to the evolution of what was once a rudimentary street art. The result is a mass of incredible finished work by some very accomplished artists both young and old. It is, in my opinion, rivaled only by LA and NYC in the amount of oldschool writers still carrying the torch of the last great American folk art movement.
